Peter Bayne has built a critically acclaimed career as a composer, producer, and sound artist for film, television, advertising, theatre, electronic music, and sound art, yielding an expansive body of work in an incredibly wide variety of genres.   His work envelopes you in the transportive, surreal, and lush fields of a detailed sonic imagination.

Trained as a pianist and vocalist at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and at the renowned Grace Cathedral Boys Choir, Peter went on to study composition at Vassar College, Kings College London, and Brandeis University for his MFA in Music Composition and Theory. His concert works, immersive sound art, experimental electronic works, leftfield dance music and avant dream pop have been distributed, streamed, and performed widely.

His prolific work in the American theatre (over 150 original scores) has garnered him numerous awards from, among others, the Ovation Awards, the LA Drama Critics Circle and LA Weekly. Selected credits in theatre include Center Theatre Group, South Coast Repertory, American Repertory Theatre, Pasadena Playhouse, Shakespeare & Company, The Antaeus Company, A Noise Within, The Theatre @Boston Court, The Actor's Gang, The Colony Theatre, Skylight Theatre Company, Rogue Machine, The Fountain Theatre, and The Actor's Shakespeare Project.

In 2015, Peter founded West Channel, a full service music house and boutique licensing company representing over 100 artists & composers from all over the world and over 5,000 titles.  West Channel has landed placements and custom scored for industry heavy hitters such as Disney, Netflix, Nike, Google, Facebook, Visa, Fedex, Clorox, Dunkin Donuts, Taco Bell, Dropbox, Salesforce, and many others.  The company operates leading edge post production audio facilities in New York & Boston.

In 2019, Peter started releasing leftfield electronic music under various pseudonyms. These new works tap into ambient, downtempo, slow techno, and balearic dub movements while maintaining Peter signature style as an orchestrator and film score wizard. In 2021, he premiered a massive new immersive & interactive work in collaboration with the Kusama: Cosmic Nature exhibit at the New York Botanical Garden. Current projects include: a series of digital art collaborations with motion graphics and animation artists to be released and sold as NFTs, preparing the release of a new EP of electronic music, and a slew of new commercial commissions through West Channel.
